The Challenge:
Rob Chafee, President of Tonolli Canada Ltd., was planning the renovation of the company’s Mississauga, Ontario office space. Past experience taught Mr. Chafee that high density storage solutions are an essential component of interior space planning.

Previous to Spacefile, Tonolli paid an off-site storage company to handle many of its files. The remaining files and storage boxes took up valuable space in Tonolli’s office. In fact, the company was running out of available space and needed to maximize storage in the least amount of space possible.

Rob Chafee wanted a solution that would allow Tonolli to store what they needed close at hand for easy access and reduced storage costs.

The Solution:
Spacefile’s Mechanical Assist Mobile (SDS) was selected because its large capacity accommodated all of Tonolli’s current storage needs while allowing for substantial growth.

Also, the mechanical assist capability enables all employees, no matter their size or strength, to open and close the large storage system.
Due to its modular floating floor and stackable ThinLine tier design, the high density system was easily installed in a small room.

The ThinLine tiers are flexible and strong enough that they can support many different types of storage including boxes, binders and files.

The Result:
Tonolli Canada Ltd. has maximized its storage space and no longer needs to use a 3rd party off-site storage company. This has reduced costs while improving efficiency.
Employees no longer spend their valuable time searching for files, as all of the company’s storage is consolidated in one place. The mechanical assist capability allows all employees to access the inside of the Spacefile system using very little effort.
The decorative system complements Tonolli’s new office concept and Spacefile’s welded ThinLine shelving accommodates end tab filing and heavy boxes.
