Sustainability
Our Commitment:
It is true that 'actions speak louder than words' and Spacefile’s actions speak volumes about our environmental efforts.
Our products, paints, distribution channels and LEED efforts show the action we are taking to have a positive impact on the environment and the communities we serve.
It is our company wide goal to create a closed-loop process, whereby every Spacefile product can be recycled at the end of its life-cycle. In order fulfill this goal, we created a company wide program called Sustainability at Spacefile.
Sustainability at Spacefile:
Sustainability at Spacefile
We collaborate with our suppliers and customers to reduce the environmental impacts of our products and services throughout the supply chain, to ensure continuous improvement in our environmental practices. Spacefile is committed to being environmentally responsible.
Products
Spacefile purchases sheet metal with an average of 40% recycled content to manufacture our product.
All scrap steel becomes part of our paint sample program or is reprocessed by our suppliers.
Wood Shelving is available in FSC Certified wood.
Renewable and recyclable materials are used whenever possible, without compromising quality, safety or performance standards.
All products are built in North America. It is our commitment to our community and our environment.
Paint
Spacefile uses electrostatic powder coat paint.
Powder paint is extremely durable and emits negligible Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
Very little powder coat paint waste is generated. Wasted paint is reclaimed for our Eco-Friendly paint options.
Distribution
Spacefile is thoughtful about the shipping process and our environmental footprint. Efforts are taken to combine shipments and reduce the number of trucks involved. Shipments are made to the end-user to reduce travel.
All of our skids and packaging materials are reused by Spacefile, our suppliers or are easily recycled.
