What are the benefits of the Spacefile Demountable Fully Finished Floating Floor?
There are a number of benefits to Spacefile’s demountable floating floor track and decking systems including:
When clients are considering what type of track and decking system to choose we often ask them “Why attach anything permanently to the floor when you don’t have to?” and more often than not they choose Spacefile’s demountable fully finished floating floor systems.
- The ability to move, reconfigure, reuse the entire system without requiring new parts which is a great option for leased space or short term space
- The installation is quick, simple and dust free which is preferred by end users in finished environments or larger buildings like hospitals
- There are no enclosed space under the decking so that air may move through the systems and prevent any mould or mildew build up
- The system is considered a piece of furniture so the depreciation cycle is different as compared to a system that is attached to the floor (considered part of the building)

Why does Spacefile have so many track choices for the mobile systems?
Spacefile appreciates that not all project requirements are the same and we want to have the right solution for our clients. Whether there are space environmental issues or budget concerns we have a solution that will suit our client’s needs. An example might archive box storage that a client is putting in a back warehouse space. Spacefile’s one piece aluminum track could be the right solution due to the lower cost and fact the system will be rarely accessed since it is store archive boxes. Another example might be pharmaceutical storage at a hospital. Spacefile’s demountable fully finished floating floor system couple be the right solution due to the ADA compliant design, the clean and quick installation and the fact that hospitals are living environments where requirements constantly change. Spacefile works closely with our clients to ensure that they end up with the right solutions for their requirements.
Are there any structural considerations when designing a high-density storage system?
High density storage systems by nature are very heavy due to the consolidation of materials in a smaller footprint. High density storage systems, regardless of manufacturer, should always be reviewed and approved by a qualified structural engineer for structural building loading before the system is ordered or installed. The exception to this is when the system is being installed on grade. You can refer to Spacefile’s Floor Loading Guidelines for more information.
